1) Geoboard
Grades: 1-8
Summary:  Here's a great tool for the Smartboard.  A virtual geoboard lets the whole class see the concepts up close.

How to integrate: Modeled
This is a great way to model geoboards to the class.




2) Banana Hunt
Grades: 3-6
Summary: Do you know your angles? Bananas are hidden around the circle.  Set the angle and find the banana.

How to integrate: Modeled and Shared
Divide the class into two teams and see which team gets more angles in a set amount of time.

3) Hitting the Target - Learning angles through sports
Grades: 3-5
Summary: This great site has four sport games to teach and test students how to measure angles (snooker), find right angles (soccer), acute angles (tennis) and obtuse angles (cricket).  Each sport will show students and ask students to identify the appropriate angles.

How to integrate: Shared and Independent
The game also gives you options to play in teams.  Separate the students and have them compete against each other.

4) Squirt the Dog 
Grades: 3-5
Summary: Familiarize students with angles in a circle by trying to squirt the dog.  The dog will be placed around the key points of the circle.  Students must select from a list on the bottom to see which angle would be the one to squirt the dog.

How to integrate: Shared and Independent
A great practice game or a review for students on angles and circles.

5) Star Gazing
Grades: 3-6
Summary: Help Digit fill his Scrapbook by setting the telescope to at the right angle to find the planets before the time runs out.  The more rounds you play the harder the angles get.

How to integrate: Shared and Independent
This one is also another hard one for the Smartboard because you need to use the keyboard, but there are always ways around it.  Try the virtual keyboard or even have the students call out the angles so you can input it.

6) Golf Tee Off
Grades: 3-5
Summary:  A great way for students to learn about angles in a circle.  Use the control buttons to direct the force and the angle in which Tumbleweed putts. There are nine holes in total.

How to integrate:  Shared, Independent
Great fun for students - highlight the angles and the vocabulary to ensure that students are connecting the ideas of this game to math.

7) Snowboard
Grades: 3-6
Summary: Hit the slopes with Vikings Helga and Darcy! There are six tricks that teaches students different angles on the board.  Students must run their mouse over the numbers and click on the last number in order to unlock the next trick.

How to integrate:  Shared, independent
This is a great game to use on the SmartBoard.  All you have to do it run your mouse over the numbers.  Then work on the 6 tricks.

8) Gorilla Angles
Grades: 3-5
Summary: Throw the banana at each other for points.  Use the circle in the center to set the degree of angle and the slider bar to adjust the force.  The team with the highest point wins.
